Matt Lamarque  - Owner/ Operator  & Personal Trainer

Matt has been in the athletic/fitness world since he started working out with his dad when he was thirteen years old.  At the age of sixteen, he started competing in the sport of Power lifting and since then has been fortunate enough to have competed all over the world.  After twenty years of competing he has achieved an elite level in the sport and his training protocols have been published in several internationally distributed magazines.

Through years of research and practical experience, he has also designed five custom pieces of strength equipment of which two of them have been given United States Patents.  Matt uses these pieces in the day to day training of his clients, his trainers and himself.

Along with Matt’s competitive lifting he was fortunate enough to be exposed to the other end of the spectrum at an early age working for a local doctor.  This doctor had patients that were at times extremely de-conditioned and weak.  These patients were also sometimes post surgical or were trying to avoid surgery.  Most of their injuries or issues were spine related.  The three years that Matt got to work with these types of problems helped him immensely with understanding the importance of progression, no matter how small the steps are, and a person’s accommodation to the prescribed progression.

Matt still competes in Power lifting and is constantly looking for the next challenge in other types of non-specific athletic competitions.  He leads by example and is always challenging his clients to try to progress in some way or another.  Stagnancy creates weakness, Weakness breeds injury, injury causes stagnancy.  It’s a vicious cycle.
